EIB confirmed its decision to allocate 4.5 million euro (exclusive VAT) to Mykolaiv to purchase 50 medium-sized (70-80 passengers each) buses.
New rolling stock will be used to transport residents between the distant districts and the downtown. Thereby, about 3.8 million passengers will benefit from access to regular public transport services in Mykolaiv annually.
The initiative is associated with a considerable environmental effect:
Egis supports the elaboration of Mykolaiv Urban Public Transport Strategy 2030, operations for contract procurement, and monitoring.
The initiative is supported by the Municipal Project Support Facility (MPSF) through a contribution from the Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF). It is implemented within the frames of the EIB-funded Urban Public Transport of Ukraine project. The related Finance Contract was ratified by the Parliament of Ukraine on April 12th, 2017.
