Missions were conducted in the ports of Izmail and Reni between 15 and 18 September 2019. The objective was to take stock of the situation in the ports within the framework of the EU-funded National Transport Master Plan Project. Interviews were conducted with officials from USPA (Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority), State Stevedoring companies and port operators. Information gathered will feed the diagnostic on maritime transport that will help determine future investment priorities keeping in mind the objectives of the National Transport Strategy adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in July 2018.
A similar work was performed in the ports of Berdiansk and Mariupol between 15 and 18 October. In addition, in the port of Berdiansk, a first assessment mission was carried out within the framework of the pre-feasibility study implemented by the project. The objective of the study is to present scenarios to the Ministry of Infrastructure and USPA for future development of the port.
There was a second mission in Berdiansk 11 to 14 November for the pre-feasibility study. The purpose of the mission was, this time, to focus on technical and environmental context of the port.
