The City of Dnepropetrovsk wishes to improve urban transport by expanding the current metro system and has, in this respect, received a joint 300 mn Euro loan from the EBRD and the EIB (EIB share still under approval). The project will finance the construction of three new stations and a 4 km extension of the existing line to the City centre to effectively complete the first line.

EBRD provided a grant to the City in order to finance consultancy services dealing with the provision of technical assistance to the Municipal Metro Company.
