Procurement and implementation support

     The City of Dnepropetrovsk wishes to improve urban transport by expanding the current metro system and has, in this respect, received a joint 300 mn Euro loan from the EBRD and the EIB (EIB share still under approval). The project will finance the construction of three new stations and a 4 km extension of the existing line to the City centre to effectively complete the first line.

Project overview

     The objective of the metro expansion project is to improve the provision of mass transit in Dnepropetrovsk as part of an overall strategy to achieve sustainable urban transport in the City. With a population of about one million inhabitants, the current transport system based primarily on buses and minibuses no longer enables efficient urban mobility, especially in the face of rising car ownership, leading to congestion.

Our missions

     EBRD provided a grant to the City in order to finance consultancy services dealing with the provision of technical assistance to the Municipal Metro Company.

The overall objective for Egis is to support in:

  • Establishing the PIU;
  • Organising and monitoring of the project implementation plan, including procurement plan;
  • Coordination of third parties;
  • Procurement of two contracts (Construction Contract according to FIDIC rules of Contract, and Supervision Contract) in accordance with the procedures, specifications and documentation of the Bank, Ukrainian legislation, other project agreements and documents;
  • Contract administration;
  • Ensuring compliance with the finance agreements signed with the Banks, and other project agreements and documents.
